Rice to the Rescue!

Ok so I know this blog isn’t really about health but I could argue that it has everything to do with my mental health and is something I think every cell phone user should know!

You see I just recently traded in my phone for a Blackberry and had to pay a small fortune since I wasn’t eligible for an upgrade for another year.  I hadn’t had it a month, when it fell into the toilet (thankfully it was after I had flushed for those of you who are wondering) and was totally dead.  Luckily I was with a friend who had experience with drowning phones who told me to take it apart and stick it in a bag of rice.  Within 24hrs my phone was dried out and working again!  Who knew?!?

Then not even 3 weeks later it happened again except this time it was in the bath tub.  Could rice save my poor phone again?  I had serious doubts. This time it took longer but it worked and after a few days I was back up and bbm’ing!

Needless to say, I now avoid having my phone near any water at any time.  However I am so grateful that the rice trick worked that I had to share it…

A special thank you to Clare who suggested the rice in the first place – You rock!

Have a great day everyone!
