Backne Anyone?

Bragg's Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

I am so excited to report that I have found an effective natural remedy for back acne (backne)!

Even though I am in my mid thirties, I found myself wondering if I was going through puberty again about 8 months ago.  My skin started breaking out around my hairline and neck and I noticed I was getting big sore bumps on my back!  (This might have been ok if I had also noticed my breast size increase, however that never happened!!) Having had clear skin all my life, this was shocking and quite concerning!  I started researching and came across information indicating that Apple Cider Vinegar was effective in treating acne.  Skeptical at first, I decided to give it a try.

 Here’s what I did:

Topical cleanser recipe:

Mix 1 part Apple Cider Vinegar  to 3 parts filtered water (or witch hazel).  Add a few drops of tee tree oil (optional).  Shake before using.  Apply to skin twice per day using a cotton pad.  If you find your skin burns or becomes irritated, dilute the mixture even further by adding more water or witch hazel.

Since I had to use this on my back I found a large bottle (similar to a shampoo bottle) and made up the cleanser in it so I would have enough for several weeks.  Be sure to completely clean out the container first before use.  Any residue may cause your breakout to worsen. If you are self conscious about the smell you can do this before bed.

 Internal Cleanse:

I also started taking 2 tsps of Apple Cider Vinegar in a glass of water each day.  At first it seemed really strong but within a few days I got used to it and now the taste doesn’t bother me at all.  Since it is very acidic, you may want to rinse your mouth out afterwards to prevent cankers if you are prone to them.

Important Note:

I did find that at first my skin seemed to get worse.  However within a few weeks I noticed a huge improvement and now I no longer have blemishes on my back and my face is clear.  When I do get the odd blemish I find it comes and goes quickly and is barely noticeable.

It is important to get a high quality Apple Cider Vinegar that is organic and has the mother in it (cloudy substance).  Braggs or Filsinger are best.  Ask for it at your local health food store.  Very effective and very cheap!!!!
