Mad about Mint Tea

After just recently going through a hypoallergenic diet in which I had to cut out caffeine (among a lot of other things!) I found myself searching for a substitute for my morning drive-through ritual. 

After trying a few herbal teas with unsatisfying results a friend offered me a cup of mint tea.  To be honest, I didn’t think I’d like it.  I mean, it’s no cup of Joe or Orange Pekoe! But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised at how refreshing it was and I quite liked how it made me feel.  Being an herbal tea I was positive it must have some medicinal benefits so I decided to look it up.  I was amazed at the health benefits of this tea.

Mint tea contains over 40 compounds and is naturally caffeine free.  It is important that you make sure you are getting a pure mint tea as some are a blend with regular black or even green teas.  Buying organic is always best to ensure the quality and integrity of the tea.

  •  eases nausea and vomiting
  • may reduce the outbreak severity of cold sores

Even though I am now off the diet , instead of English breakfast tea, it’s Mint tea all the way!  I love the taste and why not get the added benefits while I’m at it?!?
